Create an OpenBook Market

Set up the on-chain order book required for Raydium AMM V4 pools.

Before you start

  • Connected wallet with at least 3 SOL (the rent is reclaimed if the market is closed later)
1

Connect your wallet

Connect the wallet that will pay the market creation fee. Creating an OpenBook market costs approximately 2 to 3 SOL, which is locked as rent on Solana but can be recovered if you later close the market.

Enter base and quote token mints

The base token is your token. The quote token is what it is priced against, almost always SOL. Paste your token mint as the base and the wrapped SOL mint as the quote.

The SOL mint address is always: So11111111111111111111111111111111111111112

Set lot size and tick size

Lot size (Min Order Size) is the smallest tradeable unit of your base token. Tick size (Min Price Increment) is the smallest price movement. The defaults work well for most new tokens with 9 decimals. If you have a very high or very low token price, adjust accordingly.

When in doubt, leave both at their default values. Incorrect tick sizes can make your Raydium pool behave unexpectedly.

Create the market and save the Market ID

Click Create Market and approve in your wallet. After confirmation, copy the Market ID shown on the page. You must use this Market ID in the next step when creating your Raydium AMM V4 pool. The Market ID is different from the transaction signature.

Market created

Save your Market ID. You need it to create the Raydium AMM V4 pool.

If you lose the Market ID you can find it by searching your wallet address on the Solana explorer and looking for the recent OpenBook program interaction.
